Valentine&#8217;s Day is a great way to let her creativity shine, while telling her friends and family how much they mean to us. As a parent, I try to find a balance between finding the time to make things and the ease of store bought. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This activity is great because children can sit at the table to draw while making dinner. Butterfly Bookmarks\" width=\"704\" height=\"468\" title=\"Colored Pencil Butterfly Bookmarks\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Activity: Butterfly Bookmarks Valentines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Materials:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Colored Pencil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Card stock<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to a computer writing program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hole Puncher<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ribbon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Something to cut the bookmarks out<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Directions:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have your child draw small pictures on the plain card stock paper. &nbsp;We talked about the things that make people smile and she decided to draw butterflies, birds, and flowers. &nbsp;Go as detailed or as simple as your child wants. &nbsp;Heart finger prints would work well for a younger child.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make a word document with your message typed in (use either columns or a text box) so that it is repeated over the entire page in landscape view. &nbsp;I wrote ours 6 times.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slide your child&#8217;s artwork into the printer and print the words on top of the drawing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you want more than 6 bookmarks, make a copy of this sheet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cut the sheet into bookmark shaped rectangles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Punch a hole at the top.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tie on a pretty string.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hand them out to your friends and family!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/theeducatorsspinonit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_9161.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/theeducatorsspinonit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/IMG_9161.jpg\" alt=\"EASY DIY Kid-Made Valentines;
