The monument to America\u2019s first president still holds the title of the world\u2019s tallest stone structure and obelisk. There are 36 columns, each one representing one state in the U.S. at the date of President Lincoln\u2019s death. The memorial itself is 190 feet long and 119 feet wide and reaches a height of almost 100 feet. Parents may want to read all the signs, but kids will give you about 20 minutes in one spot at most.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Washington, D.C. Mall area is a very compact space. If you&#8217;re ready to walk, this whole area is walkable.  You&#8217;ll need to plan your adventure and give yourself at least 3 days to be able to see your top picks, especially when traveling with kids. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Washington, D.C. has so many famous sites that it&#8217;s difficult to keep track of all there is to see and do.
