One of my most favorite which highlights creativity is called The Dot<\/a> <\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Grab a copy of The Dot<\/a> by Peter H. Reynolds <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n As you read the book The Dot<\/a> <\/strong>you’ll discover how with a simple, witty story and free-spirited illustrations, Peter H. Reynolds entices even the stubbornly uncreative among us to make a mark – and follow where it takes us. It inspired actually a whole movement about the book called International Dot Day<\/a> on September 15ish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n You can sign up to join the fun and grab a free Dot Day Guidebook<\/a> for celebrating. At it’s latest check there were 182 countries celebrating and over 16 Million people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Are you joining the fun for Dot Day? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n In the book Vashti’s teacher placing her dot in a special gold swirled frame behind her desk. We thought it might be fun to make our own art frame to highlight the artwork that my child creates in our house. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Then we can use these tips for storing Art Work digitally <\/a>one it’s had it’s time in the spotlight. Here’s how we made our own Art Frame with my daughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Making this kid friendly art frame is such an easy project and takes very little time until completion. Just take your white foam board of your desired dimension of frame and cut it out with a razor knife. We chose to do a swirly type frame to try to model after the frame in the book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Next you simply encourage your child to “Make their Mark” just like in the story and use the Dabber Dot Markers <\/a> to make a special design around the frame. Before we started I did talk a little bit with my 5 year old about spacing things about and allow room for white space too.<\/p>\n\n\n We plan to hand it up with a ribbon on my daughter wall in her bedroom to a special art display spot. Which I’ll be honest we’ve not been using very much so I’m thrilled to know that our afternoons now can have a special time for watching StoryMakers<\/a> and Ready Set Draw<\/a> from KidLit.TV. We’ve been watching on our ipad or iphone which is fun too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I’ve attached them below so you can watch here too and get to know more about Peter H. Reynolds<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Take a moment to watch with your child or even your class these videos featuring the talented Peter H. Reynolds. I’ve previewed them all so that I can assure you they are kid friendly versions to view. <\/p>\n\n\n\n My child’s favorite is the Ready Set Draw-ish<\/a> from KidLIt TV.
