Do you have a Little Hoot in your life? We read the book <i>The Little Hoot <\/i>by Amy Krouse Rosenthal for our <a href=\"https:\/\/theeducatorsspinonit.com\/amy-krouse-rosenthal-virtual-book-club\/\" title=\"\">Virtual Book Club book<\/a> this month. It&#8217;s an adorable book about a little owl who wants to go to bed but his parents make him stay up a little bit longer like all owl do at night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We had fun discovering all the little things that he does to stay awake. We gathered our supplies and had a fun time together.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/theeducatorsspinonit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/whooosyourlittlehoot.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Supplies Needed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Paint<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Scrap or Construction Paper<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Glue<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Scissors<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Precious little hands!&nbsp; <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once we gathered our supplies we made several brown hand prints because we planned to make cards for family members. {Sorry no photos we were too busy covered in brown paint, keeping baby wipes close by are a big help when making hand prints.} <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/theeducatorsspinonit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Whoareyouthanksfulfor.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>I precut the Owl body shape and eyes, eyeballs, nose and feet because my 23 month old created this owl. If you&#8217;re doing this with older kids they can cut out their own shapes. Once the paint dried, which was pretty quick, after handing washing we assembled our owls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We talked about the body parts and talked about where they go.&nbsp;She used the glue stick on the back to get them ready to glue.&nbsp; Great for fine motor skills! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once we were done we added the cute little text and gave them as cards to family members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re working on<a href=\"http:\/\/inspiredbyfamilymag.com\/2012\/10\/30\/21-days-of-gratitude-challenge-for-the-whole-family\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"> 21 Days of Contagious Gratitude<\/a> at our house and this was one way to share our gratitude to our family members. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/theeducatorsspinonit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/OwlAlwaysLoveyoufrommyfingerstomytoes.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">We&#8217;re going to be sharing Owl Activities all week long but thought you might want some inspiration.&nbsp;
