There are lot of cute lesson plans about Duck for President. I wish it were as simple as the books portray it for our kids. At least if they start learning about it when they're young they will be knowledgeable and able to make educated decisions as they vote as adults.

We took our son with us when we went to early voting and talked through the whole process with him. I had forgotten about Duck for President! I think we'll be reading that tonight! Thanks for sharing this great post.

When I lived in PA the schools were closed on election day too! Tomorrow I have the morning free to go vote and am going to take advantage of it, although my 6 year did want to go with me. Her little brother and sister definitely did not so I told her I'd take a picture of myself afterward and wear my sticker to school pick up!

They never have work or school on election day in India where my husband is from, I think that' ssomething we need to adopt here to show it's importance to our nation for all to participate easily. I hope it goes well with all four.

I'll be bringing all four kids to the polls with me on Tuesday – they don't have school! Makes my life a bit complicated, but it's a good educational experience for them!
