I try to very hard to make my children a hands on environment so they really experience things which is why we tie in toys to role play what they see the animals doing. Plus you can't really touch a wild bird or squirrel 🙂 My daughter loves catching the frogs though.

He can now identify the mommy and daddy cardinals and LOVES the lizards, asking for me to "touch them." We have been talking about how the things we do (compost, hang clothes on the line, recyle…) help make the environment better for the animals too! Amanda
